At the time I think America were unfairly treated as a bit slight by the music press. Most bands would kill to have a hit single as big as any one of the ones on this album. And there are a lot of them, all of which are great. Some were even mistaken for Neil Young. They have/had great harmonies and were excellent guitar players. I love their sound and they had some really good albums – Homecoming, Holiday, Hearts, Hat Trick, S/T
They are/were also in the middle of their 50th anniversary tour before Covid. As an interesting tidbit this album cover was the work of Phil Hartman who was an artist who did album covers prior to his fame as a comedian on SNL and Newsradio.
